Dissolves in what kind of water??
Mixed with water, floated on surface, wouldn't mix. Not sure of the taste, but wasn't very appealing. Sent it back, won't buy again.

At last
Keeping my pH alkaline has been a struggle for me despite loading up on vegetables and green powders. This does the trick. If 1 a day doesn't work, I go up to 2 and it gets e right up to 7.5.

Energy
I use this at half recommended dosage, and it is a wonderful, non-jittery energy booster, both before and after workouts. It is also a very easy alkalizer supplement. Try it.

Swanson pH Balance Alka-Tone
I did notice an improvement in energy. The taste is ok but it's chalky. Does not dissolve well.

Alka-Tone
I have been taking Alka-Tone now for about 3 months and I'm 70 and I have more energy and with the use of the test strips I'm keeping my body alkaline which from what I read is a health benefit. I have been taking 1 packet a day with 16 oz. of water and also I'm drink more water.

Nearly perfect.
As many people read in the introduction to this product, Lee questions Dr. Brant about this product and his experiences with it. Dr. Brant stated that he gave it to his son's hockey teams and all of the players noticed a difference in their performance before being told what the product did. I was a part of those teams and i completely back what up this product. Although the taste could be improved, and i believe it is the calcium granules that do not mix as well as people are wishing, this product does work. (and to let people in on a little secret. This product is really a steal for that price compared to other less effective products. How do i know? i used them all)

Like sweet chalk
It is hard to open. It is chalky and hard to mix. Doesn't taste particularly well. Tried it after a hard hike, didn't notice anything different except I got a bit of an upset stomach. I'll use it up because it cost me; and then that will be it. I won't buy it again. Disappointing, usually I have rave reviews about Swanson's products.

Wow
We'll just say I cut my race time in running the 5k from 25 min to 23 min 14 seconds. I use this before I run or work out. I would rather use this than GuGel or Gatorade.

Convenient
I can't say whether this is positively affecting my health, but it is pleasant tasting, and therefore, at least, gets me to drink more water. The powder does not completely dissolve, which is a drawback. I have yet to take this after exercise, so I don't know if it helps with recovery.

Too expensive to buy again
I run about 40 miles a week. I tried Alka Tone before, during, and after my runs, and didn't notice any difference in my recovery time. I would try it again if it cost about $5-$10 per box, but it's not worth it at roughly $20 per box.
The taste is OK, but it doesn't mix well. The workaround for the mixing is to shake the bottle before each sip.

simply disappointment
We usually consider the fact that the product is sold by Swanson as a proof of good quality of the product.
Unfortunately, two of their new products turned out to be a big disappointment.
Alka-tone is one of them. My son used it once for his regular 10-miles run. The only effect he noticed was an excessive bloating. He didn't feel any of the promised by advertisement positive effects. And all the previous reviews are right: it's impossible to open a package without scissors; it doesn't dissolve well in a water and it doesn't taste good.

Does what it claims
I started the Beachbody workouts last fall but have continually had a problem feeling lazy and a bit tired after my workouts. I got this product on a Friday and have tried it out Sat and Sun and I am FULL of energy! I did two intensive workouts each day and still found time to take walks, cleaning and all the other week-end stuff. The only complaint I would have is this product does not mix easily with water. I had to use my mini blender to mix it up. This is a minor thing to me considering how expensive some of the supplements are to maintain energy during workouts.

Poor packaging, poor quality, unpalatable
Packets were manufactured incorrectly. You must use scissors to open. The product comes in a coarse powder that is insoluble in water even if you stir or shake it vigorously for several minutes, and it leaves a substantial amount of chalky residue on the bottom of the glass/water bottle. The taste is bland and unappetizing. And because this is a PH concoction, you cannot add any taste modifiers or it will affect the alkalinity of the solution. The pricing is not worth the quality. I wonder why Lee Swanson even allowed this type of product in his website. (Have you tested this yourself, Lee?) I am halfway through the box (mainly because it's so expensive, I just had to close my eyes and take it). So far, I haven't seen any improvement as promised in the pitch by doctor-I-forgot-who.

Not for me
I'm usually very enthusiastic about Swanson products but I think this one needs to go back to the drawing board. I agree with others that I can't get it to dissolve in water – it clumps up so much that it is a little like trying to drink chalk dust and doesn't taste very good as well. Also my PH strips don't detect any change in my slightly acidic saliva. I'm not an athlete and it might be useful to them but otherwise I'd suggest you save your money for something else.

Not Sure
The packets are hard to open and I use scissors to do it for me. It doesn't mix completely even when I shake it vigorously. I'm not sure if it's actually helping alkaline my system. I need PH strips to determine that. I bought a few boxes so I will finish using them, but I'm not sure if I will purchase them again. It's a wait and see time.

Doesn't dissolve
I'm not sure if the product works as advertised. I used it before and after a mountain bike ride but couldn't tell a difference. Maybe it needs to be used on a more regular basis. My complaint is that the stuff just does not dissolve in water..even with a lot of whisking. Next time I use it I'm going to just dump the packet contents in my mouth and wash it down with water. Most annoying to have to keep rinsing the cup just to get all of the powder out.
