All Natural Papaya
This is the first totally all-natural papaya I have seen in years. It is organic, sugar-free, and sulfur free. It tastes good too. Papaya is sold in health food stores for digestion and I am looking forward to buying it again.

good flavor, but tough
I liked the flavor and the lack of bad additives. It was kind of tough; I didn't care for that, but the kids liked it just fine!

Great natural healthy papaya
This is a must in our home. It makes my tummy happy if I ate something that didn't make it happy. 2 to 3 small pieces is all I need to help.
We keep it in the freezer so it lasts a long time.
It is all natural without sugar (or sugar cane, which is sugar in a different form) or any other added ingredients. Highly recommend this papaya. If you like the yummy natural and healthy flavor of food without additives, you will like this.. Enjoy!

What you have to know about it
Those dried papaya spears are very tasty but very dried and hard. I could not chew them so the best way to use them for me has been to let them soak in water in the fridge during at least 24 hours and I put them in my daily lunch shake. This gives the shake a very nice fruity taste.
So I would rate this product "yes, but...".....

What a disappointment!
I am not new to papaya. As a fruit, it is sweet and has loads of healthful nutrients. That was why I was so happy that Swanson has organic dried papaya spears and I thought I would have a great snack whenever I like. What a disappointment it was! The color, texture, taste are all awful! I really wanted to return it but didn't want to go through the return process. I am sorry to have to say this as in general I like Swanson's products. Hope next time I can find a better snack from Swanson.

horrific
I hope it was just the bag I bought cause it smells and tastes so bad these are going right back to where they came from.

I really like the dried fruit I get from Swanson's. So many from the conventional stores are loaded with sugar. These are very good.

DO NOT BUY
I was born and raised in tropical Africa and have eaten thousands of papayas. My father had a papaya farm. This stuff is too dry, has no taste or smell of the fruit and is rubbery when you chew it. It feels like they used the skin of the papaya instead of the fruit itself. Generally, you discard the skin. I threw mine away.
What a rip off.

So hard to chew!
I was looking forward to having something in the pantry that was healthy to snack on, but these are so hard to chew and with not much taste to them, that I find I haven't eaten one since that first papaya spear I tried. Have thought about soaking them in water to see how they taste and chew then, but haven't gotten around to it. If I had a dog I think these would make great exercise for his teeth and a healthy dose of nutrients. :-)
