100% Natural Walnut Oil, Cold Pressed 4.3 5 14 15
One of the best oils This is a delicious oil.I keep oil in the refrigerator, to preserve freshness and taste. I pour it on everything, Buy it, you will love it. April 4, 2013
Good product but the cap need to change I love this product the only thing is about the cap, not too friendly, if they can replace with a easy cap(now, every time I use it will leave extra oil out of the bottle, such a waste...) March 7, 2013
Great product This product is great for high heat and is healthy for you too. I use it all the time instead of any other oil or shortening. February 19, 2013
Not sure I read previous reviews before ordering this and to be honest i expected a nutty flavor of the oil which I have not discovered so far.The oil is very clear it tastes just oily. I hated that i ordered it in January ( I got the buy one get one free deal) and the product expires in march. There is no way one can use it so fast( I don't use it for cooking), i take a spoonful every day. February 14, 2013
Taste Great Great to cook with; I add it to everything: Salads, smoothies, cookies (baking), anything. November 28, 2012
Great Salad Dressing Oil I use this to make homemade salad dressing as it is getting harder and harder to find quality olive oil at a good price. This does the trick and has a slightly nutty taste which is great in salads. November 27, 2012
Poor Packaging I was very disappoinbted to find that this oil comes in a plastic bottle with no statement that it is BPA free. I'm pitching all the plastic stuff from my kitchen and removing this from my Favorites list. March 24, 2012
Mild, pleasant taste. Only complaint: bottle leaked. March 15, 2012
Edible Delight Drizzle this over salad greens, or mix in a walnut pesto instead of olive oil and you WILL have a tasty treat! IN-joy September 9, 2011
Oil, Yes. Walnut Oil, Maybe This is indeed oil. It has no discernible flavor or odor--certainly no "rich nutty taste." It may as well be canola oil. Suspicious. August 10, 2011
Omega content of Walnut Oil This product is advertised in the catalog as "full of omega-3 and omega-9". If you read the label, you can determine that it is 57% omega-6. Swanson, as most sellers of unsaturated fatty acids, refrains from declaring the omega-6 in their products because there is so much bad publicity on omega-6. Actually, walnut oil is one of the best sources of omega-6 fatty acid in terms of the percentage, and there is nothing at all wrong with omega-6 when it is eaten from a source such as this cold-pressed oil. All the bad publicity on omega-6 is because of the ruined oil you get from cheap commercial seed oils (corn, soy, safflower, sunflower, etc.) and from foods that have been fried or cooked with those oils, where, if the oil wasn't spoiled to begin with, the heat from the baking, frying, etc. will have ruined the omega-6 in the oils. The thing to remember is to reduce your intake of junk/fried/processed foods, and get healthy portions of both the essential fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6. This Walnut Oil supplement give you BOTH. You can use it, as I do, to make mayonnaise and salad dressing that will be healthy, and far superior to anything you can buy in even a health food store. Swanson has a recipe for mayonnaise. Try it! My recipe is slightly different, using only Walnut Oil instead of the Walnut/Olive combination in the Swanson recipe. I love it. May 3, 2011
great oil I can't take flax seed oil, but this is a delicious alternative. December 7, 2010
Outstanding product & value I've been buying this oil from Swanson's for over a year. It's an outstanding oil, delicate, always fresh and an excellent value. August 17, 2009
Wonderful for salad dressing! If you are health conscious you realize that the salad dressings you make yourself are much, much healthier than the bottled kind that have many unwanted ingredients. Some people may think that quality oils are spendy, but by making my own salad dressings I can afford the quality oils. Making your own isn't hard to do, either. Keep this oil refrigerated to keep from going rancid, as wholesome oils without preservatives must be refrigerated & used fairly promptly. This is delicious, nutty and you'll love it on your salad.
