Not so great
I really wanted to like these, but the applicators are too difficult and uncomfortable for me. The cardboard doesn't slide easily to insert, so it becomes this mess and usually doesn't make it in all the way. When I get it in alright, it works fine, feels secure, does it's job. I just cant be stressing about insertion with the non-sliding applicator issue.

This has an applicator which I prefer. I originally chose cotton tampons because I didn't think it was good to put synthetic chemicals in my body. I didn't realize I was reacting to the chemicals until I stopped using tampons with chemicals in them. I had less cramping and pain. Quite a savings on this product compared to my local health food store where I bought a different brand. This brand is just as effective as the other 100% organic cotton tampons I used. I am sure this tampon is also better for the environment since it has no chemicals..

I've been using these tampons for about a year or so now. I'm not sure why people are having trouble with the applicator. I've never had a problem inserting unless I've just put on hand lotion. I love these tampons. Absorbency is great. No leaks ever. And the fact that they're organic cotton makes me feel more comfortable about using them. The money is always an issue, but I cut corners in other places. I spend more to eat organic and use organic items (I recently starting buying organic cotton shirts) because I got kidney cancer 5 years ago and don't plan on getting it again. I've never had one problem with these tampons. They're great and I recommend them to everyone. People need to start taking better care of themselves and the planet :)

The Applicator is Awful
Once tampon is in, it works like any regular tampon. No complaints there. The problem is getting it in. I've been using tampons for years and I've never faced such difficulty during insertion as I did with these. It is impossible to get a good grip on the grip part of the tampon in order to push in the inner tube for a proper insertion. The only way I can get these in is if I push two thirds of the tampon out of the tube before inserting, then shove that in (unpleasant/uncomfortable to say the least) and then finish inserting the tampon the way it's supposed to be inserted. By the end of this my hands are all dirty and I'm in a bad mood. Will continue to begrudgingly use these until I run out as I did pay good money for them, but will definitely NOT purchase these again. Buyer beware.

I'm sure this is TMI, but we are talking tampons here... I found the applicator nearly impossible to use. The rounded end is great, but there's almost no "grip" on the other end to make it easier to push in. It's hard to describe, but, believe me, it's critical! No issues with absorbency, but I won't buy these again unless they redesign the applicator.

I just got a chance to use these for the first time last week. I bought them from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The applicator is just as easy to use as the run-of-the mill tampon brands. In fact, I think this applicator is sturdier! You can tell it's biodegradable. The tampons lasted just as long as the major brands. They say the bleach in regular cotton tampons act as irritants and actually make your period longer/heavier. I noticed a big difference, and will never go back to Playtex. It's worth the extra dollar if you use fewer tampons.
