I had tried another color of this henna but am now using the dark brown exclusively. There are no red tints in my hair with this color and it leaves my hair looking natural and healthy. I am probably 5% gray, mostly on my crown and in the front and this covers it well. The gray ends up looking like shiny highlights. This henna is also much less messy than others I have tried. It stays on my hair much better than other brands and washes out unusually well for a henna. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by hbtn time consuming no results
Used this product twice as reccomended to cover the grey. I left it on two hours both times. NO RESULTS! Really frustrating and dissappointing. The grey showed underneath like I never colored my hair and what faint color I could see was red not brown. I went to Nuturtint and that worked for me. I wont go back to hennas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FitDoc1 NATURAL AND EASY
This is a very good product. It is easy to use, and the results are my natural hair color. I had tried the Soba Botanical Henna Hair Color in BROWN. However, the results were too light. Nice color, just too light and a little too much red for me. So I redid my hair the next day mixing the powder with strong black coffee instead of just straight boiling water. That was a little better, but still not as good as I would have liked it to have been.
So when I needed to reorder, I got this DARK BROWN color. Following the normal directions and using boiling water to make the Henna paste worked perfectly. I did not need to reapply the next day, and I did not need to mix the powder with coffee. So this DARK BROWN is a definite winner for me.
I like the condition this leaves my hair in. . . . Really good condition. I really have no problem with my hair condition ever, but using this Soba Henna Hair Color does nothing but good for the condition of my hair.
Being a man with normal length hair for a man, I can get at least 3, most likely 4 applications from one package, just depending on how much I mix up at one time. I never use up all that I prepare, so there is always some left over to throw away, which is why I say maybe 3 applications since I waste some. Either way, 3 or 4 applications per package, this comes out to be VERY ECONOMICAL.
I can easily recommend this Soba Henna Hair Color product. If you have "medium" brown hair, as I do, I would go with this Dark Brown Color. That worked best for me. Overall this is a winner. . . . Good color, good for my hair's condition, and very low cost per application - - - which for me is about once a month.
The color holds nicely during that time, but then I use a Natural Shampoo (Mill Creek Botanical Henna Shampoo) which I buy from Swanson Health Products. That shampoo has nothing to do with imparting color, but it really is good for my hair's condition, and it certainly does not strip away any color. Works for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoJoJoJo Great price for quality product
I am very happy with the result of this product. It is all natural, great price and it works. I don't have to worry about coloring my hair.

I've used a couple of different henna brands. For the price this is a great product. It's like putting mud on your hair and smells like old grass clippings (not too strong though). I add a few drops of essential oils and it's much better. It covered my gray quite well with the first application. I have thick, dark hair with a lot of gray at the crown. It's been a few weeks and I need to touch up the roots. I'll continue to use it because it conditions my hair, covers gray, and no dangerous chemicals.

Amazing color results. I used the dark brown. Was worried when I saw the green powder, but there was no trace of it after, just a gorgeous brown. If you haven't used henna before, it's a bit like putting a dirt/grass mixture on you head. So worth it though when something is chemical-free and WORKS. There is a grassy residual smell in hair for a few days after. Hair was soft, shiny, and had extra volume. It's been four weeks I see more highlights as time goes on, but color is still going strong. As an added bonus, it only took half the powder to do the job, so it's like doubling my purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by SoDa Messy but works well...
I tried this product after Surya Brasil henna wouldn't adhere to my hair which was damaged from from permanent chemical color which stripped it. (Don't EVER let a stylist put permanent color in your hair!!) I believe the Surya Brasil henna wouldn't adhere because of my hair issues, not because of the product.
Lustrous Henna is the regular powdered henna and it can be messy to apply but, the mess is worth it. I am naturally dark brunette and was only trying to make the damaged parts of my hair match my roots - which it did very well. After trying to get color (chemical or natural) to stay in my hair for the past 2 years only to have it wash out immediately I was VERY happy to find a product that won't wash out and is good for my hair.
It's been almost a month since I used this product and the color is still good. It did not cover the few grey hairs very well but, I did not reapply as it directs on the instructions so I consider that operator error, not the fault of the product. I hope it works as well for you as it did me! :-)

I've used it three times now and have gotten beautiful color from it. Lots of complements. I only wish it lasted longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 Not Bad For Henna
This is not bad for henna. All henna is a mess to use but with this you don't have to add coffee or tea. You just mix it with hot water and leave it on for two hours. It does a good job of coloring the gray with no chemicals and that's my main concern when using hair dyes.
