Teens with high levels of vitamin D in their bodies experienced greater support for healthy lung function according to a recent study. Researchers also found that many teenagers don’t get the recommended amount of vitamin D. The results showed that 35% of the teens in the study consumed less than 200 IU of vitamin D per day, the recommendation for this age group (12-19 years). Researchers noted that vitamin D plays many roles in the body besides building strong bones.
