DHA Promotes Cardio Care

August 2004

Daily supplementation with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega-3 fatty acids may favorably impact lipids and promote cardiovascular system health, according to a University of Maryland study. Ninety-six healthy adults were placed into four groups, one of which supplemented with a 200 mg DHA dose, one with 600 mg, one with 1,000 mg and one with a placebo. The study used Neuromins(r) DHA. The study showed that DHA supplementation had a beneficial impact on healthy lipid levels in the male and female subjects. Researchers concluded that "this study corroborates other research that DHA may promote cardiovascular health."
