What is the OPC Content of the 100 mg Pycnogenol Supplement in Your Swanson Ultra Line?

February 2004

Pycnogenol is a trademarked supplement from Horphag, Intl. Pycnogenol represents a natural blend of genetically programmed proportions of different bioflavonoids and these include catechin, epicatechin, taxifolin, monomers, dimers of catechin and epicatechin, oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) and phenolic fruit acids such as ferulic acid and caffeic acid. The total bioflavonoids content of all Pycnogenol is a constant 95%. However, as researchers learn more about the health benefits of these other components, Pycnogenol is no longer certified for its OPC content alone.
