The formula includes an herb called Mucuna pruriens and the seeds of this plant contain one of the same substances the body uses as a precursor for neurotransmitters. Therefore, it may increase those neurotransmitter precursors in the body. For this reason we include a precautionary warning for anyone taking an MAO inhibitor or products containing L-Dopa. Mucuna pruriens also may promote testosterone levels in the body, and therefore anyone who is concerned about hypertension or other cardio problems should consult their doctor before using it. Mucuna pruriens does not contain caffeine, ephedra or other stimulants, however. Finally, those with viral infections like herpes should not consume excess amounts of the amino acid L-arginine, which is present in GHR Essentials, as it may encourage the growth of them.
