Great herb, poor results Ashwagandha is a great herb and it works very well if you get good quality. We have tried this brand as well as Gaia and Swanson. Stick with Swanson brand of the extract. It has a better potency and is more effective. I cannot recommend this brand, but like I said, the plant is excellent. Planetary does make some great products, but this one missed the mark. Have recommended to family... Another reviewer has a math error; the product is a tablet containing 500mg plain whole herb 'spiked' with 70mg of the standardized extract - if that was standardized to 5% of something, there's 3.5mg of that in the standardized portion. That said, I've tried many ashwagandha preparations; some have seemed too dilute, some too strong, and this one appears "just right" for me. This as regards drowsiness, which is the main effect I notice from this herb. August 6, 2012

Confused-Mislabeled Trying to shop for this herb is an arduous task at best.....comparing the active Ashwagandha Root Extract (25:1) Yielding 5% Withanolides of a 500 mg tablet, even considering the extra .2% naturally occuring ingredient, does not even come close to the stated 70mg (5.2% of 500mg is 26mg not 70!), which must be in error and mis-labeled. Also tabs are not as good as caps for absorbtion....just my 2cents June 10, 2012

Good product I have used ashwagandha from different brands and prefer this one. I use another product from the same company that I like very much. I seemed to have better energy while dealing with an extended illness. July 27, 2009
