Magnesium Citrate is easily absorbed, and NOW Foods Magnesium Citrate softgels are provided in a liquid base with chelated forms for superior bioavailability. Magnesium is a mineral that is critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and bone mineralization. It is a required cofactor for an estimated 300 enzymes. Among the reactions catalyzed by these enzymes are fatty acid synthesis, protein synthesis, and glucose metabolism. Magnesium status is also important for regulation of calcium balance through its effects on the parathyroid gland.

Contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, milk, egg, shellfish or preservatives.

Reliable Brand I like NOW FOODS products. They are clearly labeled especially as to allergens. They nearly always say "Contains no" then lists them--milk and gluten are what I'm looking for. I particularly like this Magnesium Citrate because it is a soft gel, and is easy to swallow, even though large in size. March 25, 2013
Capsule size This capsule looks big but is designed for easy swallowing. I had taken 200mg pills before, but they were not available so I tried these 400mg capsules. Keeps me regulated just like the 200mg. Keeps me relaxed too. Great product. November 15, 2012
Don't know about the other reviewer, but... I specifically purchased these because they were the gel caps. It's the only reason my daughter and I can take them easily. I also use the Calm powder form, but these are easier to use and they work just as they say they do. December 17, 2011
