NOW Foods' L-Glutamine features double strength, gluten free capsules. Glutamine has recently been the focus of much scientific interest. A growing body of evidence suggests that during certain stressful times, the body may require more glutamine than it can produce. Under these circumstances Glutamine may be considered a "conditionally essential" amino acid. Glutamine is involved in maintaining a positive nitrogen balance (an anabolic state) and also aids rapidly growing cells (immune system lymphocytes and intestinal cell enterocytes). In addition, Glutamine is a regulator of acid-base balance and a nitrogen transporter.

BRAIN FOOD I have found over many decades of personal experience that using 2 to 5 grams of L-Glutamine daily keeps the brain sharp, improves recall, creativity, learning, studying, memorization, as well as both school and business performance. I also have L-Glutamine Powder on hand, and I take 1 tsp of the powder (easily dissolved in water, with no taste) or 4 capsules every day. It works great for me with no side effects.
