Horny Goat Weed (Epimedium) is an ornamental plant that also has a long history of traditional use in Chinese herbalism. It was viewed as a potent tonic that was used for male sexual health and libido support in both men and women. Epimedium was thought to "tonify life's gate"---a term used to refer to the "vital energy" in men. NOW Horny Goat Weed Extract is standardized to Icariins and is combined with Maca, another vitality herb.

Interesting!! I initially tried the Swanson brand HGW with decent results. Then I tried the GNC store brand and it was useless. I decided to try the NOW brand due to their use of all natural/vegan composition as well multi- vitamins I use with good results. These are single daily dose pills, very effective, and slightly smaller than the others. I took an evening double dose to see if there was a difference and yes it was quite noticeable : ) Good stuff! The Help I Needed I have found this product very effective. I am a long distance runner . The training and stamina I need is supported by Goat Weed Extract. (wish they would change the name).It also has Maca, which makes it cost effective for me as well as only having to take one tablet. It makes me feel powerful during my workouts. Making them better. And don't worry, It does not cause any embarrassing moments for us guys. July 31, 2009
