NOW Foods Citric Acid is useful in sprouting, canning, drying or freezing. It can be used to preserve Vitamin C content, retard spoilage by bacterial growth, and prevent discoloration. Use 1 tsp. per quart of water or juice for most fruits and vegetables.

Contains no salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, milk or egg.

Suggested Usage: Citric Acid is a food grade acid that is present in many natural foods. It can be used to reduce spoilage in sprouting by adding 1 tsp. per quart to soak and rinse water.

Great for homemade cleaning products My awareness of harmful chemicals in household cleaning products has brought me to research online on how to make my own! One ingredient is Citric Acid which isn't easy to find. Here it is, I use it in my homemade dishwasher soap, it works great and no harmful ingredients. Thank you! April 2, 2013
This works great for cleansing hair Whether it's a waxy, oily buildup or pollution buildup that yellows light-colored hair, all you need is 1/2 tsp citric acid mixed with your shampoo, and the buildup is gone! 10 drops of tea tree added for waxy/oily hair takes it out the first time. pollution-stained hair takes several cleanses. Just put mixture into hair, wait 5-10 minutes in steamy shower, and rinse. It doesn't dry out your hair - you probably wont need the usual dose of conditioner. Hair feels so soft! March 28, 2013
