Calcium ascorbate is an optimal nutritional supplement that combines ascorbic acid (vitamin C) with calcium carbonate. By combining these two dietary ingredients, we have created a buffered source of vitamin C that will not contribute to gastric irritation in sensitive persons.

'Buffered vitamin C Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has been proven to be of benefit in many areas of our health. This form of C is buffered so that it doesn't affect the pH of one's stomach. April 9, 2013

Many years ago my ND recommended vitamin C as calcium ascorbate in powdered form and I've been using it ever since. Now's product dissolves well in liquid with no bitter taste, as the calcium buffers the ascorbic acid. It's great added to flavored water. Now has a great product and Swanson's price can't be beat! Calcium Ascorbate I can't take jus any type of Vitamin C. Calcium Ascorbate contains Vitamin C, but it doesn't have the negative effects of other Vitamin C brands. Excellent! July 1, 2011
