Vitamin C delivers a potent boost for your body’s defenses,
according to researchers at the University of Texas Health Sciences
Center. A recent study tracked the immune systems of 12 healthy
subjects who took one gram of vitamin C a day for two weeks. In
each of those cases, results showed heightened immune system function.
Moreover, in a closer look at four of those patients, two subjects’
immune systems responded to the vitamin C in as little as five hours.
Researchers indicate it might mean that taking a vitamin C tablet
at the first sign of trouble could work quickly enough to keep you
feeling your best.
