Wanted less toxic shampoo
Sometimes feel headachy after using it. Hair feels dirty again in one day, whereas with Dr. Bronners I can go 2 or 3 days between washes.

Jason Fragrance-Free Shampoo
I've tried a lot of different health brand shampoos, and in my opinion, this is one of the better ones in terms of being less harsh in cleansing and not having problematic fragrance ingredients. In general, I've found that health shampoos' main cleansers strip all the natural oils from my curly fine hair and leave it very dry and frizzy, even though those cleansers are normally healthier than their mass market store counterparts. In the end, I finally went the route of rarely using shampoo of any brand at all anymore. Instead, I wash with light conditioner (it really does clean as long as you use some light finger scrubbing action), and then condition after the "cleansing" with a thicker conditioner as usual. This cleans my hair and leaves it moisturized all the time without having to go through stripped periods after using shampoo! Having said all that, this Jason shampoo was the gentlest of the batch of health shampoos that I tried. It still did do that "squeaky clean" thing, but not as bad as the rest. In addition, it truly is fragrance-free, which is wonderful (and healthier than all the synthetic fragrances companies use!) and overall I was pretty happy with the ingredient list. If you don't have more delicate hair that is prone to dryness, you may not even have the problem of having shampoos leave your hair too dry. This shampoo was the gentlest out of the lot that I tried. If I was to use shampoo again, this would be a top contender I would choose from!
