Jarrow R-Alpha Lipoic Acid features Biotin for superior bioavailability and activity. Jarrow's Bio-Enhanced® Na-RALA (R-(+)-Alpha Lipoic Acid) is heat and shelf stable. Most alpha-lipoic acid supplements include equal amounts of the R and S forms. However, only RALA is found naturally in the body. RALA is a unique cofactor in energy production and helps regulate glucose and lipid metabolism. RALA promotes the synthesis of glutathione and the induction of Phase II detoxification enzymes. d-Biotin is a natural cofactor and may complement RALA in promoting mitochondrial health. Vegetarian capsules. No wheat, gluten, soybeans, dairy, egg, fish/shellfish or peanuts/tree nuts.

Jarrow R-Alpha Lipoic Acid I like the Swanson version of R factor ALA and find it effective. However, I prefer the Jarrow version because of the vegetarian features in the product. In addition, the Jarrow product contains Biotin which is a definite plus. The higher cost of the Jarrow product is something to consider. May 26, 2013
