Greasy
I was not aware when I ordered this product that it would be greasy, sticky and petroleum jelly-like. I suppose it would work as well as the lotion form, but it would need to be covered to avoid getting on clothes.

Essential for sore muscles
I bless the person who told me about this ointment thirty years ago. I have been using it for muscle spasms with success every time since them. My back muscles are always strained due to overweight, sitting job and slight spinal curvature which throws muscles out of alignment. I use this ointment very liberally on lower back and hips. I can feel the tight spots in my muscles as I apply this. I don't know how it works, but the relief is within minutes. Lately I have added Hyland's Arnica Montana homeopathic tablets which work internally and enhance the muscle relief. Only two drawbacks- the ointment is greasy and slow to be absorbed. On the positive side, once it is absorbed, it is very good for the skin. Also, I detect no funny odor from the product. The other drawback is Swanson's only offers the smallest size of this product. I wish they would add the 3.5 oz. jar of ointment as you really need to use a gob, not a dab of it on the muscles. I would be in daily pain without this product for my low back pain and muscle spasms. Also, I once dropped something really heavy on top of my foot and it hurt! Right away I applied some arnica montana and it stopped hurting and there was not even a bruise.
