IBARRA: Thank you, Lee. We’re very excited to be working with Swanson Health Products® to introduce this new ingredient. Svetol is an advanced extract from unroasted green Robusta coffee beans. It has a unique and specific composition that makes it unlike any product on the market today.
Svetol is based on a large body of scientific evidence showing the beneficial effects of chlorogenic acids on metabolism and body composition. While many people think of caffeine as the energizing, fat-burning ingredient in coffee, it’s actually the chlorogenic acids at work. Svetol is almost completely caffeine free. It’s stimulant free. Yet it’s been clinically shown to help manage weight and promote fitness in a variety of ways.
IBARRA: Svetol works in a number of ways. First, in vivo studies have shown that chlorogenic acids reduce absorption of glucose in the intestine by inhibiting the dissipation of sodium electrochemical gradient in the brush border membrane vesicles. Second, chlorogenic acids have been shown to inhibit an enzyme in the liver that is involved with releasing glucose into the bloodstream. So through these two mechanisms, Svetol works to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. This effect induces the body to burn the fat stored in adiposities as a source of energy, thus leading to weight loss.
Next, further in vitro research has shown that the active components of Svetol help reduce the size of fat cells within adipose tissue. In fact, a placebo-controlled randomized trial over eight weeks showed that Svetol users lost weight and lowered their body mass index while improving their muscle-to-fat ratio. (See chart.)
IBARRA: Well, you’re right; chlorogenic acids are found in kiwi fruit, apples and cherries for instance, but not in very high concentrations. And there are other green coffee extracts out there, but none like Svetol. Svetol has a standardized composition that includes both a complex of chlorogenic acids and a very specific chlorogenic acid believed to be most beneficial to human health. These acids are maintained in a consistent ratio within Svetol and it’s this precise composition that yields results.
IBARRA: Thank you for the opportunity to share Svetol with your customers. I’m confident it can help us all face our challenges with the scale.comments powered by Disqus
