It may be hard to believe, but the concept of stress as we know it is less than 100 years old. The idea was first put forth by Hans Selye, a Hungarian-born physician and chemist. In a groundbreaking paper published in 1936, Selye identified what he called "general adaptation syndrome," which became popularly known as "stress."
Even to its originator, the concept of stress is not easy to define. It is said that Selye himself struggled for a clear definition, concluding that stress, in addition to being itself, is also the cause of itself, and the result of itself. No matter how you define it, stress is the scourge of modern times.
We respond to stress in three phases. First, immediate stressors initiate the "alarm phase," during which hormones are released, heart rate and blood pressure increase and alertness rises. Next, we enter the "resistance phase" in which new hormones are secreted and energy expenditure rises. Finally, the "exhaustion stage" sets in and the body becomes overwhelmed, no longer able to keep up and unable to quell the flood of stress-activated hormones. This is the chronic stress that alters our quality of life.
The oil found in the peel of the sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) has been used by herbalists and practitioners of aromatherapy for decades. It's known to be calming and soothing in aromatherapy and has been employed internally for a variety of applications. Serenzo is the next evolution in sweet orange science.
French scientists developed Serenzo using a special, certified organic Citrus sinensis extract standardized to 20% limonene. Formulated with acacia gum for digestive tolerance and optimum bioavailability, the Serenzo complex has proven itself in preliminary studies to be safe and effective on self-reported subjective stress assessments. Furthermore, Serenzo has been scientifically shown to exert a positive influence on stress biomarkers.
In an open-label clinical study, 40 stressed men and women age 18–60 took 500 mg of Serenzo daily for 12 weeks. Each participant completed a set of standard questionnaires and provided saliva samples for analysis at the beginning of the trial, at six weeks and at the end of the 12-week trial. Ultimately, 95% of the investigators and 87.5% of participants found Serenzo to be efficient in helping to control stress. More specifically, scores improved on all questionnaires including the Hamilton Anxiety Scale, considered the "gold standard" analytical assessment for stress (see chart).
If stress is robbing you of a healthy, happy life, adding Serenzo to your daily regimen may help take the edge off and defend against future health concerns. Serenzo is safe and free of side effects common to other stress-fighting products. Find serenity now with Serenzo, the natural solution for harmony in discordant times.comments powered by Disqus
