SWANSON: Doctors, it’s a pleasure to be here in beautiful Oslo. Before we talk about Dr. Eskeland’s revolutionary new colon health product, would you please give our readers some brief information about your backgrounds?

Dr. Eskeland: Thank you, Lee. It’s a pleasure to have you here in Norway. I was born here, graduated here and then went to the United States for my graduate studies. I completed my Ph.D. in animal physiology at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1971. From 1976 to the present time I have been on the staff of the Environmental Toxicology Department at the University of Trondheim, Norway. I also work with a large Norwegian natural products manufacturer, Med-Eq, which is recognized as the leading developer of new, cutting-edge nutritional ingredients and supplements in Scandinavia.

Dr. Strand: I graduated from the University of Oslo Medical School in 1986. I am currently a licensed physician practicing in Oslo. My clinic, Kilden Helse AS, is a large holistic center here in Oslo where medical doctors, nutritionists, acupuncturists and homeopaths are working together, caring for more than 12,000 patients annually.

SWANSON: The reason for our visit today is to introduce our Swanson customers to your remarkable new ingredient for colon health, which we call COLON TONE. What can you tell us about it, Dr. Eskeland?

Dr. Eskeland: The active ingredient in COLON TONE is our first colon-cleansing product that contains natural oxygen compounds. Each tablet contains oxygen that is bound in a completely natural crystal lattice matrix. When the tablet is swallowed and comes into contact with gastric acid, the crystal structure breaks down, releasing pure oxygen and oxygen compounds. This proprietary matrix consists of oxygen-enhanced vitamin C, natural bioflavonoids and a magnesium hydroxide/oxide compound.

SWANSON: When these natural oxygen compounds are released in the GI tract and pass through the colon, what affect do they have on our colon health?

Dr. Eskeland: These oxygen compounds actually help to soften debris on the colon walls. When this material is softened to a half-fluid state, the magnesium in the tablet then helps move it down and through the colon and out of the body.

SWANSON: Dr. Strand, you’ve used the ingredient in COLON TONE in your large private medical practice in Oslo. What have been the results you’ve seen with your patients?

Dr. Strand: Excellent. The results have been just excellent. Over a period of a month or so, it’s possible to remove these old deposits that may be found on the walls of the colon. It’s like a chimney sweep cleaning a chimney. This product is unique in that it uses a three-tiered approach: It gently increases bowel activity; it removes old matter and the oxygen compounds also help nourish the colon. It’s a very unique and extremely effective product.

SWANSON: How do you compare COLON TONE to other colon cleansers on the market?

Dr. Strand: Most colon-cleansing products use psyllium seeds or other herbs as their active ingredient. While effective, these fiber-based products work by pushing accumulated waste through the intestine, which can put stress on the body. In addition, psyllium seeds, senna and other traditional ingredients don’t address the build-up of debris, which, in my experience, is a major culprit in gastrointestinal distress. On top of that, these products can only be used for short amounts of time, so your body never reaps the benefits of daily cleansing.

SWANSON: In my opinion, that’s one of the best things about your formulation, Dr. Eskeland; it can and should be taken daily.

Dr. Eskeland: That’s right—I designed this ingredient to be used every day. The majority of people spend years accumulating these deposits on their colon walls. Consequently, it can take time to remove them. That’s why I developed COLON TONE—something that can be, and is recommended to be, taken every day as part of a daily natural supplement program.

SWANSON: What is the recommended dosage?

Dr. Eskeland: I recommend taking four tablets daily, two in the morning and two in the evening, for the first two weeks, then one tablet in the evening thereafter.

SWANSON: I think we should also mention at this point that you recommend people take a high-quality probiotic supplement in conjunction with COLON TONE. Why is that?

Dr. Eskeland: The reintroduction of healthy, “friendly” bacteria is a good idea for anyone on a colon-cleansing program. A high-quality probiotic is an excellent insurance policy for protecting colon health in the future.

SWANSON: With the natural oxygen compounds in COLON TONE releasing small amounts of oxygen in the colon, is there a concern about the product producing gas or flatulence?

Dr. Strand: No, this is not a concern. The flatulence you refer to is often caused by eating foods high in polysaccharides, like beans, lentils or cabbage. The primary type of gas released eating these types of food is nitrogen. With COLON TONE, however, small amounts of pure oxygen are released in the lower GI tract, and that amount, while effective, is so small that flatulence is not a problem.

Dr. Eskeland: Of the thousands of satisfied customers in Scandinavia who have used the ingredients in COLON TONE and given us glowing testimonials, flatulence has never been an issue.

SWANSON: Dr. Eskeland, you’ve shown me a clinical study that was done using the active ingredients in COLON TONE, which demonstrated its effect on improving general overall health. I found the results very exciting. Can you please share this with our readers?

Dr. Eskeland: Absolutely. Dr. Erling Thom of the ETC Research and Development here in Oslo studied the ingredient in pilot research using nine female test subjects with an average age of 56.8 years. They took the product daily for eight weeks, using the same protocol I described earlier. After this initial eight-week period Dr. Thom recorded an average 30% improvement in pre-established quality of life parameters. The subjects then continued on with the maintenance dose of the product for another 16 weeks, achieving a final average improvement of 33% (see graph above).

SWANSON: That’s quite impressive, and I think it’s a great note on which to end our conversation. Is there anything else you would like to add?

Dr. Strand: I’d just like to say that the gastrointestinal system is one of the body’s most important systems. It’s responsible for the processes that sustain our health and youthfullness: the absorption of nutrients, vitamins and minerals; and the detoxification and purification of the body.
