Can you tell me if there are side effects for long-term use of glucosamine and chondroitin. I read somewhere that doubling up the dosage (1,500 mg of glucosamine/1,200 mg of chondroitin twice per day) can kick-start effectiveness.

Both supplements have excellent safety records, but it wouldn't be prudent for us to advise going beyond the recommended dosage stated on the product label. We do offer a (/SW842/ItemDetail 1,500 mg glucosamine supplement ), and the label directions state that you can take one tablet, one to two times per day.

For more information on dosage guidelines, you may want to consult the book The Arthritis Cure, which introduced this duo for joint health to the general public. It most likely is available in your public library, or you can purchase it from us (item /BK078/ItemDetail The Arthritis Cure).
