Ginseng Root (Panax ginseng, American Ginseng, Asian Ginseng, Korean Ginseng, Chinese Ginseng)
Ginseng is considered a perennial ground cover. Slow-growing, the ideal plants for cultivation are at least 6 years old. The primary active compounds in ginseng are a group of triterpenoid saponins known as ginsenosides. Korean ginseng contains thirteen known ginsenosides, along with other constituents such as panaxans and polysaccharides. Ginseng is known as an adaptogen, a general tonic to aid in adapting to physical and psychological stressors. It supports cardiovascular and immune health.
