Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal is made with 100% stone ground whole grain. The original oatmeal was first made in Scotland centuries ago and was different from the rolled oats version we're used to seeing. It was a coarse meal that was produced by slowly grinding the oat kernel between two large millstones. Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal is produced in the same old-fashioned way and delivers all the health-giving nutrients of the best quality oats from which it was ground---the germ, the oil and the fiber. Ingredients: Whole grain oats.

Stovetop Instructions: For a savory, hot breakfast cereal, bring 3 cups water and ½ tsp. salt to a boil. Add 1 cup Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal, turn heat down, cover and cook for 10 minutes. Makes four hearty servings. Serve with honey and milk. A great way to start the day!

Microwave Instructions: In a large bowl, combine ¼ cup Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal and 3/4 cup water. Microwave on high for 3 to 5 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes. Makes one serving. Serve with honey and milk.

Bob's Scottish Oatmeal Wonderful for breakfast with whatever you like to add to your oatmeal. I like to add flax seeds, dried fruit and sometimes nuts. But even plain it's far superior to the mass produced mush. With Bob's red mill you get nutrition and texture. Personally I prefer their products. May 13, 2012
