best you will ever eat!!
The oats of my childhood-Haven't found anything at a comparable price that are better. takes about 20 minutes to cook (well worth the wait) and add raisins and any other dried fruit I'm in the mood for. Delicious!!

My favorite oats.
Aside from the obvious benefits of being organic, these oats cook up well while maintaining their character and integrity - i.e., they don't become mush. I pour boiling water over half a cup of oats and a pinch of salt and seal it in a wide-mouth thermos for half an hour. Then add some pure maple syrup and some organic, non-homogenized milk, and that's my favorite breakfast. Adding raisins or other dried fruit before sealing is also good, but you have to add more boiling water so that everything gets cooked. Easy to figure out after a few tries. Hard to find oats this thick.

I LIKE MOST OF BOB'S PRODUCTS. I JUST WONDER WHY HE DOESN'T GO ALL ORGANIC. HE HAS MANY CONVENTIONAL PRODUCTS.

There is a difference. I have compared this to brand name regular oatmeal. Bob's is tastier and has a better consistency/texture. I have not made cookies with it yet but I am sure they would be great.

Been eating them for years!
Would have given 5 Leaves except I believe the size and firmness of the flakes has diminished over the years. I empty the bag into a plastic container, then shake it, causing the oat "flour" to drift down. Scoop then contains less flour, resulting in better tasting oatmeal. I add banana, pecans, brown sugar and cinnamon. Yum!

Matter of Preference
These oats are very good and tasteful. I'm not sure that I like the thicker oats. It is strictly a matter of texture preference. I made cookies with this and I think I would rather a "crispy" think oat to the thicker "chewy" oat.

These oats are really good. Not as easy to cook as the Quaker kind but they are better tasting.

Great "meaty" oats
We love Bob's Red Mill Organic Extra Thick Rolled Oats. The texture of the oats gives it a great "meaty" consistency... it doesn't turn into mush like others on the market. The price through Swanson is great, too; we've paid double this at the market.

I like Bob's Red Mill Organic products in general. However with this particular oats, I have tried and do prefer a much thicker oats. The texture is good. But if it were thicker and bigger rolled oats, it would be much more enjoyable to chew. I gues size does matter!

Good chewy oats
I HATE mushy oatmeal. This product (Bob's organic extra thick rolled oats) solves that problem. The oats are so thick that they require chewing of a somewhat vigorous nature. I would definitely buy these again, but want to warn others that the packaging is not good for storing an opened pack. Use a jar or expect to keep it in a Ziploc bag.
