finally found it.
I had a hard time finding this product locally. It works great and the price was right. almost all of Swanson's gluten free products are a lot cheaper than in the stores. It makes living on a fixed income easier. thanks

It's guar gum
I bought this to make gluten-free bread. Seems to work okay, but xantham gum seems to work better.

After reading that guar gum has much more thickening power than cornstarch, I thought it would also be preferable to cornstarch due to g.m.o. corn and the high carbs. However, it seems Bob forgot to include directions on how to use it as a thickener. Sure, there are a couple of recipes on the bag, which is fine if you're planning on using it to bake with---but what if you want to use it to thicken gravy? The thought did occur to me that perhaps you can't use it in this way---but again, it would have been nice to see something on the bag about this. I tried to use it like cornstarch by mixing up a slurry, and wound up with a huge, hard lump in the bowl. So "Plan B" was to try again, this time using it as one would use xanthan gum in a slurry for thickening...mainly, by using a very small amount a bit at a time, mixing like crazy. It performed somewhat better this time but, when added to the gravy it ended up in a bunch of lumps floating on the top.
I realize it's not Swanson's fault that Bob's Red Mill didn't include information on how to use (and as the case may be, NOT use) the guar gum, but since they didn't, it would be very helpful if Swanson's could include information in their description. I'd love to say it's a great product, but I really don't know, as I've yet to use it in any baked goods.

I have used this product to help thicken gravies or baking recipes. It works great every time.

useful for Whey Isolate powder mix
I use this in my Whey Isolate powder mix, 1/2 tsp. in about 12 oz. of water with mix. It really makes it more creamier. If just seems more enjoyable to drink the powder mix when using water only. Feels like there is milk in it. Great additive to anything that is cold and needs thickening. Calories are very low, a plus in dieting.
