This December Swanson Health Products is supporting Vitamin Angels' effort to get life saving nutrients to children in underdeveloped countries by sponsoring the Precious Cargo campaign. Many children in the developing world have very little access to healthy foods and often eat the same meal day after day, leaving their bodies deprived of essential micronutrients. Vitamins support overall health and enable children to learn better in school, helping to increasing future economic opportunity and strengthening the community for the long-term.
It can be hard to reach those in need because of geographical hurdles. That's why Swanson Health Products, along with other Precious Cargo sponsors, will collectively match all donations up to $100,000 for the entire month of December. Donations can be made quickly, easily and securely at swansonvitamins.com.
The journey of Vitamin Angels' Precious Cargo starts in their warehouses in the US and travels by boat, plane, train, car or foot into isolated villages where their partners in the field await the vitamins for distribution. All donations will have a huge impact, and with the match, it will go twice as far in helping to serve more in need.
Vitamin Angels is dedicated to reducing child mortality worldwide by advancing availability, access and use of essential micronutrients, especially vitamin A, among at-risk populations. In 2012, Vitamin Angels will reach approximately 25,000,000 children in over 40 countries, including the US, with the vital nutrients they need as a foundation for good health. Vitamin Angels has received five consecutive four-star ratings from Charity Navigator for Financial Health, Accountability and Transparency. To learn more, visit www.vitaminangels.org.
