Daily Health Tips update for February 28:
During this time of the year, the air is still dry and our hair is suffering from months of low moisture and high product use. Here are some tips to deal with some of the top “bad hair day” issues:
- For hair that is breaking off or has split ends: try cutting back on your hair coloring and using products with keratin, wheat, or soy protein. Trimming your hair more often will also make it look less frizzy.
- For hair that is frizzy and dry: shampoo less and moisturize more with conditioners that feature shea butter or nut oil.
- For hair that is oily and limp: wash your hair daily and use conditioner lightly only on the ends. Try cooler showers so as not to aggravate the oil-producing glands on your scalp.
- For dull hair: try color-preserving shampoo and conditioner and use a cuticle-smoothing product with natural oils.
