How Much Sugar Are You Drinking?

Daily Health Tips update for November 15:

Dieticians and nutritionists continue to warn about excess sugar in our diets. But they specifically warn about the “hidden sugar” you may not know you’re consuming in the form of fruit juices, sodas, sports drinks, specialty coffee drinks, etc. Watching what you drasdfink can be just as effective as watching what you eat when it comes to cutting calories. Check out how much sugar you may be drinking:
  • Cranberry Juice Cocktail = 180 calories, 11 tsp of sugar
  • Cola = 150 calories, 10 tsp of sugar
  • Orange Juice = 170 calories, 8 tsp of sugar (all naturally occurring sugar)
  • Latte with Skim Milk, sweetened = 150 calories, 7 tsp of sugar
  • Sports Drink = 80 calories, 5 tsp of sugar
The above numbers are for 12 ounce servings.
