Dr. Oz' 4 Supplements for a Longer Life

You already know the basics of a healthy life start with eating right, exercising and plenty of sleep. But supplements can also play a role in helping you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Mehmet Oz suggests adding the following supplements to your health plan to promote a long, healthy life.

  1. Resveratrol. This extract is found in fruit and seeds and has become very popular in the last few years as an anti-aging supplement. The antioxidants found in resveratrol can help maintain a healthy heart.
  2. Strontium. Calcium might be the most popular bone-building supplement, but strontium is important, too. This mineral helps maintain strong bones and also helps keep teeth healthy, too.
  3. Vitamin D. While more and more studies show more and more health benefits, most of us aren’t getting enough of the “sunshine vitamin.” It’s made by sun exposure, but with sunscreen and more time indoors, many of us don’t get enough sun exposure to meet our D requirements. Vitamin D helps calcium be absorbed into the blood stream.
  4. Fish Oil. A source of omega-3 essential fatty acids, fish oil can help many areas of health. It supports heart health and skin health. The DHA in fish oil can also enhance cognition and promote new cell growth to keep memory sharp.
