About Dr. William Harris

Dr. William Harris has focused his research on omega-3 fatty acids and cardiovascular disease since 1980.   For 22 years he directed lipid research labs at the University of Kansas Medical Center and the Mid America Heart Institute, both in Kansas City.

Dr. Harris has a Ph.D. in nutritional biochemistry from the University of Minnesota.  He did post-doctoral research at the Oregon Health Sciences University.

Dr. Harris is a Research Professor of Medicine at the Sanford School of Medicine, University of South Dakota.  He is President of OmegaQuant, LLC, in Sioux Falls, SD, a company he founded in 2009. He is also a Sr. Vice President of Health Diagnostics Lab, Inc., Richmond, VA.
