Bean Dip Duo: Tangy Bean Dip & Healthy Hummus

Organic Canellini White Kidney BeansJust in time for Super Bowl, we have two great-tasting dip recipes for you to serve at your football party. But unlike other Super Bowl fare (pizza, hot wings, etc.) these dips are actually healthy—low in calories and sodium and high in fiber.

First is our recipe for Healthy Hummus, which features Eden Foods Garbanzo Beans. Otherwise known as chickpeas, garbanzo beans are a staple of the Middle Eastern diet. Added to the garbanzo beans is Once Again Nut Butter’s Organic Tahini, which is made from sunflower seeds. Both the beans and tahini are natural protein sources. A blend of four Swanson Organic Spices (garlic powder, cumin, parsley and paprika) plus Himalayan Crystal Salt gives it plenty of flavor.

The second recipe is for the Mediterranean-inspired Tangy Bean Dip. Taking just minutes to prepare, this dip features Eden Foods Cannellini Beans (also known as white kidney beans). Creamy and sweet, these beans are natural sources of protein and fiber. We combine cannellini beans with Swanson Organic Garlic Powder, Swanson Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar and lemon juice for a savory dip.

Our Human Resources manager and resident chef Pam shows you how to make these dips in our latest cooking video.

Chef’s Notes:
  • Personalize these recipes by switching up the spices. For example, try adding cumin, cayenne or red pepper to spice it up.
  • Serve these dips with our crisp and flavorful Swanson Garlic & Herb Pita Chips – find the recipe here!
Perfect for snacks or appetizers, these dips make a great partner to veggies and crackers, as well as pita chips. And with just a few ingredients and a food processor they can go from pantry to party in just minutes. Make them for yourself and tell us what you think!
