Soothe the soul with Alvita Valerian Root Tea. Used for beneficial properties at the time of Hippocrates in the 4th and 5th centuries B.C., valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is native to England, Europe and the United States. Valerian derives its name from the Latin valere, "to be strong," referring to both the plant and its distinct odor. It was also referred to as "All-Heal" during the Middle Ages in Britain. In centuries past, it was taken for its soothing, beneficial effect, used as a condiment during medieval times and as a perfume during the 16th century. Today, valerian root is used throughout Europe and the U.S.

Not Great Nasty tasting tea - most might not be able to dring it. April 13, 2014
cannot stand the smell of the tea, would not buy it again. April 8, 2014
Ooooo, that smell! I couldn't get past the smell to see if it was effective or not. Had to throw it out to get rid of the smell. Even put it in zip-lock bag. But still..... April 4, 2014
this is valerian root tea afterall I don't understand why people complain about the smell, this is Valerian root and this is the way its smells..:) and although it has a strong smell I don't find it to be a bad one January 2, 2014
Valerian Root Tea Priced right. This tea is perfect for when you need a good night sleep with waking up drowsy. smells bad though. May 22, 2013
Nice herbal nighttime tea Valerian stinks, but once you get used to the smell, you will appreciate its relaxing qualities. In this tea, the peppermint brings out valerian's aroma, however, it creates a harsh cup of tea for my taste. I have been brewing this tea very briefly and I have somewhat gotten used to the taste of this blend. Next time, I will probably order the valerian without mint. March 21, 2011
If you want a good night's sleep great stuff to help you sleep - my husband will not go without it August 6, 2010
Good Product, stinks though Product has done what I wanted it to do, but it stinks like stinky socks. If you can get past that, the product is a good one. July 22, 2010
