Alvita Dandelion Root Tea harnesses the healthy nutrients in dandelions and gives them to you in this delicious tea form. Often brewed as a coffee sub-substitute, the roots of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) can also be used as an ingredient in root beer. The taproot is white on the inside and dark brown on the outside and grows up to 6 inches long. The plant first appeared in the 10th century journals of Arabian physicians.

Ingredients: Dandelion Root

Directions: The best way to make a good cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag in a cup and add no more than 6 oz. of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes. Press the bag before removing to enhance the flavor. Add honey to sweeten.

Dandelion Root Tea (Roasted) 4.6 5 8 8
URINARY TRACT TEA I use 2 tea bags of this Alvita Dandelion Root in my big pot of herbs I brew up along with a half dozen, or so, other herbs as a tonic for my urinary tract. With the pot, actually a large sauce pan, covered, I bring the mixture of herbs to a boil, then turn down to a simmer for 30 minutes. The resultant 'tea' tastes fine, and I find it easy to drink about a quart of it at room temperature daily. For the herbs that are not available in tea bags, like Buchu and Cornsilk, I buy those in capsules and then pull apart 6 capsules and dump their contents into the pot. I also add a couple of Tblsp of Juniper Berries. I used to have to get the Uva Ursi herb in capsules and add as mentioned above, but I notice that Swanson now carries Uva Ursi in tea bags. I also add Pau d'Arco (contents of 6 capsules), along with 2 tea bags each of Alfalfa, Parsley, and Green Tea. Quite an excellent mixture overall, and as I mentioned above, it tastes surprisingly fine. I like to keep hydrated all day, and I don't mind drinking my herbal kidney tonic tea in addition to plain water. May 19, 2013
Unique Love the flavor. Its a staple in my pantry. Alvita has the highest quality teas you can buy. I love the variety they offer. Dandelion is one of my favorites, its not for everyone but if you like to give your taste buds new flavors try this one. April 29, 2013
good tea This tea has a soothing flavor and tastes great even without sweetening. March 9, 2013
Great taste! I was extremely surprised with how much I loved the taste of this tea. This is a great coffee substitute. I drink this plain and I am very happy with it! February 15, 2013
Wonderful as Coffee substitute I have been using this for years as a coffee substitute. It's not too strong, so I add about 1/8-1/4 cup actual coffee (I use hazelnut from Panera) to make the flavor more robust, and sweeten with stevia. July 12, 2012
Weak I love Alvita teas but this one has a very weak taste, even when brewed in smaller amount of water. Dandelion tea reminds me of a coffee taste, for a person not liking coffee, this tea would be excellent, myself, I prefer a more robust flavor and taste. Overall, excellent product, just not for me. coffee substitute I find this very helpful as a healthy sub for coffee. It tastes like weak coffee... this may sound like not much help, but I drank coffee because I loved the taste. This is close enough for me that I am satisfied. February 28, 2011
Alkaline I drink Dandelion tea to have a more alkaline balance to my system. I like the taste and it seems to soothe my nerves too. February 6, 2010
