Great product and price
This product is an excellent source of silica. I have found it to be effective on hair, nails and skin.

Excellent product
I have read about silica being an overlooked nutrient that is necessary for so many things. The horsetail extract forms were getting too expensive, I was glad to get this higher potency product at such a good price. The first effect I noticed was that my skin seems more opaque, it seems thicker. The next thing I have noticed is my hair is definitely thicker. Have taken this regularly for several months. It is probably helping me build muscle and connective tissue at my new, very physical job.

good product
I bought this primarily for my hair--it has gotten thinner as I've grown older. I've been taking it for about a month, but haven't seen any difference in my hair so far--I know I have to give it more time. What I have experienced is that I have had a mood change. I just feel much happier and content. It's hard to explain because I didn't notice it until all-of-a-sudden I just felt better, physically and emotionally. I know it's the bamboo because I haven't changed anything or taken anything new. I highly recommend this product.

Amazingly Soft Skin
I haven't been taking this long enough to know if my hair and nails will improve, but my skin is so much softer. I only give this product 4 stars because I am not convinced of the safety of supplemental silica. There can be adverse effects from other forms, and I suspect bamboo silica is even less studied. I hope it proves to be safe because I LOVE how my skin feels.

I stopped using this for a couple of months and I noticed a difference in my nails and hair. This is going to be a staple for me from now on.

Swanson: Lower Dose?
The amount of Bamboo silica in this supplement is far more silica than what the average human loses in a day, so I only take the supplement 3x/week. I think Swanson should at least offer a second bamboo supplement with a lower dose of silica. Your body doesn't store the extra silica so the "extra" silica is not effective. At three times per week it does work though. I would gladly take it every day if I could get it at a lower dose. Thanks.

Wonderful Silica Supplement
I ordered this product experimentally, as there have been few endorsements (other than by Asians, for whom bamboo is a standard supplement known to help maintain health). In Western lingo, bamboo is outstanding for being able to provide silica to the body's system. I had tried other products to achieve this, but I can assure you that Swanson's bamboo formulation has worked better than any of them to achieve the results I sought from silica supplementation: i.e., Increase bone density, improve calcium use in the body, boost collagen formation for elasticity and flexibility, and strengthening heart and arteries. It helps to replace silica lost from the current food supply. Swanson's product is by far less expensive, too.

Best nail product
Weak nails have always been a problem. I started taking this regularly and noticed a marked improvement in the strength of my nails. I ran out and didn't order for about a week and my nails began to soften again. Thanks for a great, inexpensive product.

This is awesome!!
My nails have always been fragile - all my life. They were so thin that when I would wash my hair, sometimes a hair would cut a nail. I gave up growing my nails long and always kept them trimmed short. I tried this product, and for the first time EVER, my nails are very sturdy and healthy. It is really amazing!! Since I'm not used to long nails, I've accidentally bumped my nails on my desk, the wall, etc., and immediately looked at them thinking I'd broken one - but no damage!! It only took a few days to start seeing results, too. This is an excellent product for anyone with fragile nails!!!
