Kirk's Original Coco Castile - Fragrance Free
This soap is awesome. If you're the type of person who has problems with scents in soaps and want to avoid the toxic stuff in regular store bought soaps then this is the soap for you.
The one thing I first noticed about this soap is that is almost eliminated underarm odor for myself and my 17 year old son> You can imagine how bad a 17 year old boy can smell. I say almost, because it made a drastic reduction.
It lathers very well, a lot better than most commercial soaps, but take care in the shower. All that lather can make the shower floor slippery.

Keeps Skin Soft Without Needing Other Products!!!
Great product. I have very dry skin. With this soap, I no longer need to apply moisturizer to my skin after bathing. My skin retains moisture now. Wow! What a difference from regular soap.

LOVE IT
EXCELLENT soap option! It is so hard to find a soap that smells pleasant, doesn't contain lauryl sulfate and won't dry out your skin. Thanks Kirks! Next I'm going to try out their shampoo.

Old friend...
Started using Kirk's in the mid Seventies... 35+ years. In most stores (except "Health" types) there is NO viable alternative. Strong points: lathers WELL ALWAYS - regardless of water. Have used Kirk's exclusively. Camping and traveling always great. In the Amazon/Manaus SA, locals were fascinated with quality, had to leave my bar with someone pleading for it. There is a very mild neutral scent, very light but not in the least objectionable or annoying. The review citing it dissipating quickly is true... IF it isn't allowed to dry between use. The lathering action apparently is TOTALLY hydrophilic. I have drilled holes in my soap container to vent moisture. If kept fairly dry between use the bars will last a long time. Also once applied to washcloth, brush, sponge etc. really HANGS in there. You can also easily just lather up your skin by just rubbing with the bar slightly and then spreading the lather with your hand. I have found it working well on nearly all hand washing needs. Is great on all "garden" type dirt, most "construction" type soiling including much of grease/oil cleansing. Even paint, adhesives, caulk and such wash off, albeit with a hand brush. Good for cleaning under fingernails. I have to resort to shop "hand cleaners" seldom but when I do Kirk's afterwards rinses away all odor and residues of those potions. Also good for washing after getting stuff like WD-40 on your hands.
CONS?? Perhaps for some people the cost... no 6 bars for a buck deals. However Kirk's has climbed to $1.50 to $2 just about everywhere I have been getting it. As usual Swanson's come thru at a buck a bar!
Perfect for hard water and messy hand washing.
OH!! Used it for YEARS to lather up to shave! Nice firm lather, excellent body for shaving . I just wet the bar and rub it on my face , spread it around with my fingers and shave. No cans, cups or brushes. REALLY great while traveling/camping.
And I have used it many times (esp. camping/traveling) to hand wash laundry... works quite well.
Only one caveat: Tried it once while camping to wash my hair - ahem... BOZO the Camper look. Hair was super dry and went crazy (scared the bears away though).
Love this stuff. 35 years - no rashes or other reactions, but hey, everyone's body chemistry is different. Definitely FIVE LEAVES!

meh
I have recently started switching all my bath and body products (as well as laundry and cleaning) from chemical filled standard name brands over to chemical free products. I had high hopes for this soap, especially since it has only 4 ingredients. Unlike other soaps that say "unscented" or "fragrance free" this soap truly has NO scent. It lathers exceptionally well. I put the bar in the shower on Sunday morning and as of today (Wednesday) it's already nearly gone. Typically, a bar of soap will last my husband and I one full week. So, it does seem to be disappearing pretty quickly. I find it leaves my skin feeling dry and tight and I need to put lotion on. The bigger problem is that I noticed a burning sensation on my underarms when using this soap. This has never happened to me before with anything else. I chalked it up to shaving my armpits and the soap just irritating the freshly shaved skin. But as of this morning, my husband told me he is ALSO experiencing the rashy burning sensation on his underarms too. I have no clue what could possibly be causing this, but I will not be buying Kirk's in the future.

great soap
This well made product remind me of the simplicity and goodness of so many years past.
The soap I liked at home when I was a kid, gives foam right away, handling and cleaning is pleasant
last a long while. Feels natural as it is.

My favorite soap
Fragrance free - smells very clean. I have sensitive skin :( and this soap pampers my skin (I do not use this on my face-I use other Swanson products on my face).
