Indian Risotto Yellow Mung Bean Khichdi from Kazana Whole Foods is a traditional wheat-free, gluten-free, all-natural vegan dish made with long grain rice, split yellow mung beans and aromatic herbs and spices. It comes ready to cook and makes a delicious, pure and highly nutritious complete meal. Pronounced kit-ch-dee, which means "mixture," Khichdi is an authentic Indian dish that is widely considered India's most traditional comfort food. It is light, easy on the stomach and nutritious. Ingredients: Long Grain Rice, Mung Beans, Turmeric, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Ginger, Cumin & Sea Salt.

Cooking Directions

1. Rinse rice and Mung beans 3 to 4 times with water. Drain.

2. In a medium saucepan add 3 1/2 cups of water, spice blend and the rice/beans mixture and bring to a boil.

3. Cover and reduce heat to low. Stir occasionally.

4. Simmer 20–25 minutes or until all water is absorbed and rice is tender.

5. Stir lightly and serve hot.
